About the quality of videos... Brian's talked about how that's one of the things they've had the least creative control over. I think maybe it was in a TV news interview here?
i feel like this is a brian video, abby had one so maybe they are encouraging particular band members or friends to take the creative hand in each video so they won't get stagnant.

nope, this was joey gallagher (who apparently helped out with abby's video too) and comfy in nautica was patrick o'dell. so that's even stranger, using another director to get pretty much the same video (even though i still think nautica's way better)

i like this statement, sometimes I think people's expectations of the band ruin their experience of the bands work (i.e. the general public's reaction to the Guggenheim exhibit)
but I guess there are high expectations for this band cause they are usually putting out awesome and mind-blowing music
